Mirko Fontana and Diego Marquez, the designers of Au Jour Le Jour, took us to the sorority for their Spring -Summer 2017 collection. An organisation, the members of which have different points of view and have different ways of self-expression. The designers enjoy the idea of “intelligent fashion”, where fashion is not just clothes and outfits but the reflection of your personality, the mirror to your soul, the way you think.
We also see a story of young women who love to layer Victorian frills, who are free to wear mini dresses with gingham and who are brave to combine geometric details with floral patterns. A number of dresses and skirts are decorated with woven ribbons which accentuated the waist line.
Au Jour Le Jour could not avoid symbols and emblems which are within the DNA of this brand. This time we see emblems and sorority symbols, giraffes, ladybirds and frogs covering shirts. A lot of pieces were decorated with charms made of enamelled metal.
One of the audacious details of this versatile collection were cuffs, playful and feminine, on almost every garment. And there were a lot of sequins glinting on the runway. The sequins were basically almost everywhere: from mini dresses to oversize sweatshirts.
