Bringing sequins into your casual wardrobe is no easy task. Balancing the attention-grabbing statement pieces spangled with paillettes is the key to success.
Styling a sequin skirt is a pretty mastered skill, but when it comes to pants, that’s an unknown territory for some (except sequinned leggings fans). Tibi gave us a gift of sequinned culottes this
season. Pair it with a crisp oversized shirt, by tucking in the front of the shirt and slipping one side off the shoulder. For the lovers of heels, add a pop of colour with mules, but if you prefer a more relaxed look- opt for pristine white sneakers instead. Don’t go overboard with accessories, choose minimum of statement jewellery, classic shades and a mini crossbody bag.
Pastels and Ruffles
Candy shades of sequins are perfect for spring-summer period. When warm days are upon us pick a sleeveless top in pastel shade, like this lavender violet model. To complete the ensemble mix it with lilac and mint tones, don’t be afraid to add print and ruffles for an ultra feminine touch. Accessorise with nudes and whites for a light and fresh feel.
Why not mix two top trends that generally belong in complete opposite times of day in one daytime look: pyjama dressing and sequins. Long roomy relaxed sequined trousers in bronze matched with a printed pyjama jacket are perfect for an elevated casual look, which with a quick change of the accessories will take you straight to cocktail hour.
Already a hot trend on its own, the slip dress is revamped with a layer of paillettes. When it’s warm enough just throw on a light silky trench coat or a duster and a pair of peep toe heeled booties for an elegant demure look. But for now, layer your slip with a simple turtleneck for extra warmth and swap the pumps for flat Chelsea boots, that will take you places no matter the road conditions.
Sporting the Sparkle
Trackpants and sequins? Sure can! Athleticism is in vogue, but don’t go full gym wear look, add an element of surprise to sporty attire and choose a statement jacket. The Zimmermann piece is a perfect fusion of romantic detailing on a military feel design. A bucket bag, both stylish and versatile, will blend in perfectly in this ensemble, while keeping all your essentials.
